Distribution

Where can Nisa International deliver to?
As part of our service, we offer multi-temperature freight management. From a single mixed pallet to a full container, we can organise delivery of your order by road, sea or air.
Can Nisa International deliver direct to my store?
Yes, for EU customers we can organise door-to-door delivery direct to your store. For other destinations, we can deliver direct to your port. Speak to your Account Manager regarding your specific freight requirements.
Can Nisa International consolidate orders with other suppliers?
We are unable to consolidate orders with other suppliers at our warehouse. We can, however, co-ordinate with a third-party and arrange delivery of your order to their premises.
Can I organise my own freight?
Yes, you can organise your own freight and have the goods collected from our warehouse. We can also offer freight management to destinations around the world at competitive rates.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Our lead times are among the shortest in the industry. From order confirmation, we can pick your order ready for collection or delivery in as little as 48 hours. For large quantities please speak to your Account Manager for lead times.
Can Nisa International deliver to a UK address?
Yes, we can arrange delivery of your order to any UK mainland destination for onward shipment. For orders from our Ambient range consisting of 300 cases or more, the delivery charge is £0.25 GBP per case (£0.45 GBP for orders 300 cases or less). For orders from our Frozen range, the cost is £0.60 GBP per case. There is no charge for UK mainland delivery for Chilled or Speciality orders.

Documents and Labels

Can Nisa International supply documentation?
We have considerable experience in the standard documents required for international shipment. We will always endeavour to provide the documentation you need to import our products. If you have specific documentation requirements, please advise us when you place your order.
Can Nisa International supply foreign text ingredient labels?
Yes, we can supply translated ingredient labels in many languages for most of our products. Please speak to your Account Manager to discuss your requirements.

Duty Free and Value Added Tax

Can I buy duty free alcohol from Nisa International?
We have an excellent selection of British beers, cider and other alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately we can only sell these at UK Duty Paid prices.
Will I have to pay Value Added Tax (VAT)?
UK based customers will be required to pay 17.5% VAT on all standard-rated goods. European Union (EU) based customers are exempt from VAT only if they have advised Nisa International of their registered VAT number and it has been confirmed to be valid. Check if you have a registered VAT number. Customers based outside of the EU and UK are zero-rated and therefore not required to pay VAT.

Glossary

What are Ambient products?
Ambient products refer to food and non-food items which can be stored and shipped at room temperature. Confectionery, soft drinks, tinned vegetables and laundry products are just some examples of products in our Ambient range.
What are Speciality products?
Speciality is also referred to as fine food or gourmet food. Our Speciality range includes high quality marmalades, condiments and confectionery as well as organic, diabetic and gluten-free foods.
What are Seasonal products?
Our seasonal range includes confectionery and gift items specifically designed for Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Seasonal products are available from our ambient, chilled, frozen and speciality ranges.
What is a Personalised List?
This is a product list exclusively for you. You can add or delete products as you wish, narrowing down our 15,000 British food and grocery products to those that you intend to stock. The list will also maintain itself by adding products from your past orders. It can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet which you can use as an order form.
What does Ex Works (EXW) mean?
Ex Works (EXW) is defined as: "The seller must place the goods at the disposal of the buyer at the seller’s premises or another named place not cleared for export and not loaded on any collecting vehicle." Incoterms 2000
What does Free Carrier (FCA) mean?
Free Carrier (FCA) is defined as: "The seller must deliver the goods, cleared for export, to the carrier nominated by the buyer at the named place." Incoterms 2000
What does Free on Board (FOB) mean?
Free on Board (FOB) is defined as: "The seller delivers the goods, cleared for export, when they pass the ship’s rail at the named port of shipment (maritime and inland waterway transport only)." Incoterms 2000
What does Cost and Freight (CFR) mean?
Cost and Freight (CFR) is defined as: "The seller delivers the goods when they pass the ship’s rail in the port of shipment and must pay the costs and freight necessary to bring the goods to the named port of destination. The buyer bears all additional costs and risks after the goods have been delivered, over the ship’s rail at the port of shipment (maritime and inland waterway transport only)." Incoterms 2000
What does Carriage Paid To (CPT) mean?
Carriage Paid To (CPT) is defined as: "The seller delivers the goods to the nominated carrier and must also pay the cost of carriage necessary to bring the goods to the named destination. The buyer bears all additional costs and risks after the goods have been delivered to the nominated carrier." Incoterms 2000

Log On

How do I log on to the website?
In the orange box located in the left hand corner, type in your user name and password and then press "Log In". Once logged in, your name and company will appear in the orange box.
How do I get an online account?
If you do not have an online account please either contact your Account Manager or register for an account online.
I forgot my password. How do I get a new one?
If you have forgotten your password, please contact your Account Manager or request a password.
What are the benefits of a Nisa International web account?
With a Nisa International web account you can have access to: our complete product list, on-line ordering, detailed product data including images, up-to-date prices, range consultancy service, order history, translated ingredient labels and more.

Orders

How do I place an order?
The easiest way to place an order is to use your Personalised List from which you can generate an electronic order form (Excel spreadsheet). Enter in the required quantities and then email it back to your Account Manager. If you do not have email please contact your Account Manager to make alternative arrangements.
What is the minimum order quantity?
For each range, you can make up your minimum order with as little as one case each of differing products.
  • Ambient: 175 cases
  • Chilled: 30 cases
  • Frozen: 30 cases
  • Speciality: £400 GBP
How long is my order quotation valid for?
Printed on each quotation is the expiry date. If you wish to proceed with your order, you will need to confirm your acceptance before this date. The easiest way to do so is by approving your quote. This feature is located under "My Account".
How do I approve my order quotation?
The easiest way to approve your quote is to log on. Quotes to Approve is under the My Account tab. A list of outstanding quotations and their status will appear. Click "Approve" next to the quotation you would like to approve. You will then receive a copy of the order confirmation by email.
My quotation has expired. How do I get a new quote?
If your quotation has expired, the easiest way to request a revised one is to log on. To request a new quote click "Re-quote" next to the applicable order. Your Account Manager will be in contact with a new quotation.
When do I have to ship or collect my order?
Goods must leave our warehouse within 48 hours of the "Effective Until" date printed on your quotation. In other words, you have 48 hours from the quotation expiry date to collect or ship the order. For example, if the quotation expiry date is Wednesday, the goods must leave the warehouse on Friday at the latest.
Why do I have to order my seasonal products in advance?
Seasonal products such as Easter and Christmas are only available for a limited period. Stock is produced to order by the manufacturers and they require goods to be ordered in advance.
Does Nisa International sell to consumers?
No, Nisa International is a business-to-business exporter of British food and groceries. We supply retailers, distributors and wholesalers around the world.

Payment

How can I pay for my order?
We can accept a variety of payment methods. Please contact your Account Manager to discuss your options.
Can I pay in my local currency?
At the moment, we are only able to accept payment in British Pound Sterling (GBP). We will be offering multi-currency payment in the future.

Prices

Can I see prices on the website?
Yes, if you log on with your user name and password you will be able to see our current prices. Prices listed in Euros and Dollars are for guidance purposes only.
What is a price period?
For many of our products, we operate a three-weekly price period. Prices from period to period on some products may increase or decrease, when manufacturer’s change their prices. For this reason, we are unable to guarantee prices beyond the next price period.

Products

Can I get information on a specific product?
Yes. For the majority of our products we have detailed product data such as manufacturer’s name, ingredients and shelf life. To see more detailed product information, please log on with your username and password. From the appropriate range and category click on the product’s name. The details will appear on screen.
Can I see a photo of the product?
Yes. For the majority of our 15,000 products, we have colour photos on our website and we are constantly working to add new photos. To see a photo, please log on with your username and password. From the appropriate range and category, click on the product’s name. The details will appear on screen.
How can I search for a product?
There are two ways to search for a product. Using "Product Search" (located below the Log In box), you can enter in a keyword such as the product name, brand name, barcode or Nisa International product code and then press "Search". Keywords should be in English. The results will appear in the centre panel. Alternatively within each range, you can use the left hand navigation to search for a particular category or subcategory.
Do you have larger packs suitable for foodservice and catering operations?
Yes, we have a range of catering sized products including Kitchen King and our speciality bulk food range.
What shelf life can I expect?
The warehouses have a high turnover of product on a daily basis so Nisa International is able to supply products with excellent shelf life dates. For an indication of the shelf life, please log on using your username and password and search for the specific product. Click on the product name and the details will appear on screen.
